Super Hot Day!

I can't believe the record breaking hot temperature's this week. It has become unbearable, especially for the kids. For two evenings now we have been hanging out at place's with air conditioning. Good thing Walmart is open late and the malls don't close till 9pm on Wednesday's...so at least we can enjoy a cool little family outing. On with tonight's post. Enjoy!

You are the best cupcake! A cute stamp with cupcakes from Lockhart Stamp Company. This is the first time that I have used Lockhart Stamps and I must say they were a joy to use.

Designer patterned paper is from Making Memories - Poolside and Flower Patch. I thought I would start using brighter and lighter colors when making my cards. I have been using brown and green tones on my cards, it's time for a change.
I have listed more crochet flowers in my Etsy Shop...go check them out. Just click on the flower button.

Cards and Blooms!

I'm back! I have been working on projects since the beginning of July that I have not been able to keep up with my blog. It has been a busy summer so far...with work...kids being off school and weddings. August will slow down a bit which leaves more time for creating...I hope anyways. Today I thought I would share what I have been busy making.

I learned to crochet! Flowers to be exact. I like to be frugal with my addiction (scrapping that is) so I thought I would start making my own embellishments.

Actually I learn to crochet in the past but I only learned how to do one stitch. I did a search on the intern on how to crochet flowers and I am enjoying it!

Back to cards...I have been a bit lazy lately on designing my cards, but I totally ready to dive in and create. I guess you can say that I have lost my creative mojo (being busy can do that to you). Here is a card that I think is so cute.

"Man cannot live on chocolate alone, but woman sure can." When I saw this at the check out in my LSS I could not resist. An impulse buy that cannot be refused. The stamp set came from Amuse. They have such adorable images that I can sit and stamp for hours.

The designer pattern paper came from one of my favorite scrapbook company's Basic Grey. Then of course my Copic Markers...they have been tucked away for so long.

I am so excited to be back in my creative realm.

Happy Canada Day!

July 1 is a time to celebrate! Not only the birthday of Canada but the end of the school year. Man was it ever busy with the hussle and bussle of year end celebrations. I also had finished a very special project for the school principal at my kids school, it was made near the end of the year that I did not have the chance to post some pictures. None the less it turned out very well and I was please with it.

Now that is it time for summer what are we ever gonna do with the kids? We will have to keep them busy so that they don't get terribly bored.

I finally had the chance to make a few cards last weekend and want to share them here.
Have you tried making a card with fabric pieces? I though I would try.

There where some fabric pieces that came with my ScarletLime kit and I was not quite sure what to do with them. I played around with the fabric pieces and this what I came up with.

I added some felt flowers, ric rac ribbon, and voila! Done. It was nice and quick. I am not sure how the fabric piece was made, but I am sure that there are many crafters out there who can sew and make something similar.

Enjoy the day! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANADA!
